A quartet of Racenet’s stable of bookmakers have reported a strong push from punters keen to back the Grahame Begg-trained Bennetta in Saturday’s Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap (1300m) at the Golden Coast.
As for the fifth emergency, Bennetta is unlikely to gain a start in the $820,000 Magic Million 3YO Guineas (1400m) but the $114,000 winner’s cheque in the fillies andmare’s event shapes as a decent consolation for her connections.
Luxbet’s Neil Evans said Bennetta’s supporters have backed her from $3.80 into $3.10 while Tom Waterhouse from Tom Waterhouse.com said punters are on the right track with their confidence in the mare.
“She was very impressive last start and looks to have found a very winnable race here,” Waterhouse said.”
“She will have the last shot at them and likely prove too strong.”
“Punters were as impressed as I was with her win last start win and stepped in with confidence as soon as markets went up.”
Most bookmakers found it hard to split Missy Longstocking and Assail when assessing the tricky Magic Million 2YO Classic (1200m).
Missy Longstocking and Assail had three supporters apiece among the nine bagmen surveyed while Clevadude, Sweet Idea and Greytfilly all had one bookmaker making a case for them.
The full thoughts of Racenet’s stable of bookmakers will be available shortly.
